Volunteer Sheriff's Posse
The Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office Volunteer Posse is made up of dedicated community members just like you. They come from all backgrounds and professions but share a common passion—to give back to our communities and help make our home a safer and better place to live.
As a member of MCSO’s Volunteer Posse, you’ll be part of a diverse team committed to improving our communities. Your role will align with your skills and interests so you’re giving back in the most meaningful and productive way. Whether you’re interested in field support, emergency response, or community outreach, your unique skills and background will be used to make our team stronger.

Posse members support MCSO professionals and receive thorough training in a variety of areas. It’s a rewarding way to give back and a great opportunity to gain relevant experience and explore potential career pathways in law enforcement.
Volunteer Posse Positions:
- Patrol Operations
- Crime Scene Security
- Support Special Events
- Administrative Functions
- Disaster Relief
- Emergency Response
- Applicants cannot have been convicted of any felonies.
- Applicants cannot have any misdemeanor convictions in the last 12 months or a record of improper personal conduct affecting suitability.
- Must be eighteen (18) years of age or older
- Must have a valid driver’s license
- Posse members must be in good health
- Ability to stay up to date with online training monthly
