MCSO Policies

It is the policy of the Office to provide guidance and procedure, some specific and some general, and to give direction and set limits within which employees of the Office shall operate in the performance of their duties.

Policy is not designed to formulate a rule for every situation. In all cases, common sense shall prevail. Statements in policy found to be unlawful, incorrect, or inapplicable shall not affect the validity of the remaining content. It shall be the responsibility of all employees to become familiar with the sections of the policy that apply to their respective duties.

Please note, the Maricopa County Sheriff's Office is providing members of the public access to our policies and procedures as a convenience. While we try to keep our online information timely and accurate, there may be a delay in updating our website after there have been changes.
